Phytosaur Smilosuchus Mini Skull Replica

$79.95

Phytosaurs are some of the most common Triassic fossils found in what is now North America and Europe. Smilosuchus gregorii lived about 220 million years ago and was a top predator in the Triassic waterways. The original skull that this replica was made from is over 4 feet (1.24 meters) long and comes from an animal with a length of 26 feet (8 meters). The pointed teeth suggest that it was a carnivore. Phytosaur bite marks are commonly found in other Triassic animal fossils. Made from a casting of the skull found in Petrified Forest National Park’s Rainbow Forest Museum at the south entrance of the park. New technology allowed us to do a full 3-D scan of the original skull and scale it down to generate this intricately detailed, smaller-scale skull. A great collector’s item or teaching tool!
