La Posada Hotel Hosts Petrified Forest Night Sky Photographer Melany Sarafis

Petrified Forest National Park Artist-in-Resident Melany Sarafis will offer a public presentation/demonstration on Night Sky Photography at La Posada Hotel and Gardens this coming Saturday, July 18th at 2:00 PM.

Melany SarafisMelany will share her photographs of the night sky. She loves being outdoors and is inspired by nature and history. This passion lead her to discover night photography and an insatiable desire to master astrolandscape (night sky) photography. It’s these histories (and mysteries)—as well as the natural patterns and predictable rhythms of the landscape and stars—that drive her.

She will recount her experiences of “chasing light” under the stars as she searches for that “perfect” shot, and explain how she finds constellations, planets and satellites as she focuses her camera far into space.

This is free and open to the public.
